Tolcarne Skimboarding Photos – Sept 2013
Last weekend, a load of us got up super early (4.15am!) and drove to Cornwall to score some waves at Tolcarne beach in Newquay.
To catch the spring high tide we needed to be on the beach at 7am – and that was duly done. Seems everybody was super impressed with my early start, as getting up in the morning is not one of my strong points haha.
Anyway, conditions were clean and glassy, and everybody had some awesome waves. Some of the crew had to be home by lunchtime, so that left the hardcore crew (or you could argue “crazy” crew) to sit around for over 7 hours to wait for the high tide in the evening.
The time was passed by drinking copious amounts of coffee from the cafe at Tolcarne, as well as purchasing some kids playing cards to play “snap”, and also a kids frisbee.
Needless to say, it was worth the wait, as the waves were slightly bigger in the evening, even though was just a bit more wind to chop things up a bit.
Anyway, here are the photos from the weekend, enjoy!
Thanks to Kieron at Skim GB for use of the photos!
